Program Information – Driver Intervention Program

Welcome to the Lawrence County Recovery Driver Intervention Program! Located in Ironton, Ohio, our program is designed not only to meet court-mandated requirements but also to support individuals in understanding the impact of alcohol and other mood-altering substances on their lives, particularly concerning driving under the influence. We aim to guide you towards initiating positive lifestyle changes and avoiding future legal complications.

As mandated by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OMHAS), participants are required to complete 72 consecutive hours of driver intervention education. It’s essential to note that leaving early or arriving late will necessitate restarting the entire 72-hour program from the beginning. Unfortunately, refunds for incomplete sessions are not provided, and participants are responsible for covering the cost of attending another program in full.

To secure your place in the Lawrence County Recovery DIP program, a non-refundable deposit of $250.00 and completion of the registration form are mandatory. Upon receipt of your deposit payment and registration, you’ll receive an email confirmation. Please be advised that enrollment operates on a first-paid, first-served basis. In the event of a payment receipt without available slots, we will promptly notify you via phone or email.

Cancellation Policy: Should you need to cancel your attendance, please do so at least ten (10) business days before the program to avoid a $150.00 rescheduling fee. Any request for rescheduling must be accompanied by documented permission from the referring court.

To ensure a productive weekend, we request that you adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Please bring your own toiletries and three days’ worth of casual clothing. Towels will be provided by the hotel.
  • While cell phones and laptops are allowed, they must remain in your room throughout the program duration. Any violation will result in confiscation until program dismissal.
  • Alcoholic beverages and items containing alcohol are strictly prohibited.
  • Any alcohol-based items will be inspected and may be temporarily held by staff until program completion. Luggage will be searched during Thursday evening check-in.
  • Prescription and over-the-counter medications must be in their original containers with legible labels. Bring only what is necessary for the 72-hour program.
  • Non-prescription mood-altering substances are prohibited unless approved by our staff and prescribed by a physician.
  • Feel free to bring unopened snacks, juices, and soft drinks.
  • Neither Lawrence County Recovery nor the hotel can be held responsible for vehicles or their contents in the parking lot. Remove any valuables if leaving your car on-site.
  • Bring your insurance card in case of emergencies.

Completion of the entire 72-hour driver intervention program is mandatory. Failure to remain on the premises or tardiness will necessitate rescheduling for a future program, in compliance with state regulations.
