What to Expect – Lawrence County Recovery Driver Intervention Program

Upon your arrival on Thursday evening between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m., you will begin the check-in process. This includes signing in, having your luggage checked, and logging in any medications you have brought with you. You’ll then meet with the program supervisor for the weekend, undergo orientation, and complete the necessary paperwork. The evening will conclude with the distribution of room keys, bedtime medication, and settling into your rooms. Please note that dinner will not be provided on Thursday evening, so be sure to eat before your arrival or bring dinner with you. Room service or ordering food during the weekend is not permitted.

Each morning from Friday to Sunday, you can expect a wake-up call at 7:30 a.m., followed by roll call at 8:30 a.m. (If you are late for the roll call, you may be dismissed from the program). Breakfast will then be served, and the day’s activities will commence at 9:15 a.m. Lunch and dinner will be provided at 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., respectively. Activities throughout the weekend include speakers, films, small group sessions, and individual screening. Following each activity, there will be a short break, during which you must remain in a designated area of the hotel.

Throughout the program, we offer 15 hours of education on alcohol and drug abuse and addiction, including traffic safety education, 5 hours of small group discussions, and 1 hour of screening and individual contact.

Dismissal time is at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
